Hot August Nights moving main venue to UNR from GSR this year
Hot August Nights is switching gears this year as the popular classic car event announced a new main venue.
Hot August Nights will be partnering with the University of Nevada, Reno, as its main location for 2025.
The change in venue is necessary because traditional partner Grand Sierra Resort is working on a billion-dollar capital improvement project at the hotel-casino, which will include a new arena.
The event kicks off on Aug.
1 and is scheduled to run until Aug. 10. The GSR will continue to be a partner for the event, according to Hot August Nights.
The choice of UNR as Hot August Night’s main event location this year is a nod to the event’s history.
Hot August Nights started in 1986 at UNR, which makes the event’s return to the university akin to a homecoming, according to organizers.
“Hot August Nights has always been about celebrating our past while capturing the energy of the present and the excitement of the future,” UNR President Brian Sandoval said in a statement.
